I don't know about you, but I've been missing Monica while she was away. She came through a very difficult pregnancy last year, and now has a healthy little baby boy. She had to get her blog up and running again when she lost her domain name, and the "followers" could not be transferred. So please drop by, become a follower, and enjoy her perspective on life. She is a warm, giving person and has shared some of the best recipes around, she's a wonderful gardener, and an artistic homemaker. And you'll catch a glimpse of their little baby -- he's so cute!
About Me
- Saloma Furlong
- [If you use this photo, please credit Kerstin Martin] I was born and raised in an Amish community in Ohio. Driven by my desire for freedom and more formal education, I broke away from my community –– not once, but twice. I graduated from Smith College in May 2007 with a major in German Studies and a minor in Philosophy. My education has included research on the Amish with Dr. Donald Kraybill and a semester abroad in Germany, where I studied at the University of Hamburg. During my thirty-year inner struggle of coming to terms with my Amish past, I have gleaned a better understanding of myself and my heritage. It is this perspective that I bring to my reflections about Amish.

Happy New Year, my friend. Hope Christmas was wonderful for you and all your boys. :)
Thanks again, Saloma. Happy New Year to you and your family! I'm looking forward to reclaiming my life in 2012.
Thanks for the link. I hadn't heard of Monica before, but I'm following her now! : )
